QUEER ACTIVIST “RETREAT”: film festival and summer camp!

Cinema Queer, SAQMI, Salam Norway, Reclaim Pride Gbg & Reclaim Pride Norway join forces to bring you a very special summer-ish programme that you definitely don’t want to miss.

Together we organise this Queer Activist “Retreat” in a camping format that will give us the chance to reconnect with our community, build alliances and recharge our batteries for yet another adventure against racism!

This Queer Activist “Retreat” consists of a three day camping with activities that include: film programmes, conversations, workshops, party, sauna nights, quiz & games, dips in the lake and other spontaneous activities that you might feel like doing!

GOALS OF THE QUEER ACTIVIST “RETREAT”:

• To create an accessible and enjoyable space to connect people from queer communities and highlight BIPOC experience and anti-racism: conversations, workshops, safe(r) space, community building, community care, alliances.
  • Intersections between the Queer community & Network: To spread queer representation through film screenings and workshops that bring up interesting discussions and working plans to fight racism and fascism.

• To evoke a hopeful summer experience with a sleepover camping, close to nature, sauna and a lake.

Part of the programme will be organised activities with a fixed time and duration, but we want to make sure that there is space for conversations to happen, for people to connect with each other, and for alliances to start building. For this reason, part of the programme will be non-scheduled, giving us the opportunity to connect with our bodies and feel what we want to do once we’re there.

Location the venue is located one hour away from Gothenburg by public transport. We will arrange a private  BUS  that will pick up participants in Central Gothenburg. Participants will receive specific information once the application has been accepted.

 Departure: Friday 26th of May, late afternoon. Pick up point TBA (Gothenburg).
 Return: Sunday 28th of May, afternoon. Return point TBA (Gothenburg).
