SAQMI X TRANSAMMANS presents a night of film screenings and conversations. Films that are by and of trans people that SAQMI has not shown before.

Silas Lilo, Hallways (2024, 6:51 min)
In the video HALLWAYS, multiple layers portray memories of burnout and psychiatric hospitalization: A beat built from sounds from the psych ward, lyrics about our value and happiness as achievements subjects, drawings of the ward as imagined by a friend who recalls old letters from the psych patient.

Silas Lilo Jensen (REMBODY) is a queer, trans, and neurodivergent sound artist, musician, and music producer based in Gothenburg. Their work is deeply informed by queer and trans lived experiences, with a particular focus on health care systems and community care. Through experimental composition and deep listening, Silas treats their collected sounds as a living archive of emotion, tension, and transformation. Their experimental film Hallways traces the physical, emotional and sonic architecture of a psychiatric ward.

dri Turrado, X (2016, 9:20 min)
“x” is an audiovisual project that explores gender from a transfeminist perspective, presenting transition itself as a practice that challenges and deconstructs the concept of gender as such. It posits an infinitely transitory state of (non-)movement, from and towards nowhere, as an act of resistance against the oppressive binary model of woman/man. Through filmed transits, cinematic appropriation, and visual poetry, it loops endlessly, portraying a post-identity self in constant flux.

dri Turrado is a queer artist, pianist and digital video producer interested in experimental cinema and text. Exploring identity through language, the voice, and the body, it inevitably happens that genderqueer perspectives also want to join the party ;) Adrian is also an activist in the LGTBQ+ community; currently involved in a project for trans rights and trans health improvement in Sweden.

Jana Bringlöv, Nätter och dagar i juli (2021, 14:30 min) 
Nätter och dagar i juli (Nights and days in July) is about a woman who is left alone in the city during the brightest days of July. In her apartment, she tries to find ways to pass the time.

Jana Bringlöv Ekspong is a director and actress living and working in the north of Sweden. She wrote the script and played the part as Mikaela in the Teddy Award winning short film Undress me (2013).

Lasse Långström & The homosex syndicate of precarious avantgarde artists, Plenum Im Tuntenhaus (2024, 13 min)
The angels have given the Captain of the Sea Butchers the sacred mission to head to a lesbian bar on Venus to get her hands on the most powerful vibrator in the universe – the weapon needed to bring down the evil gentrifiers’ towers. But to get her hands on the vibrator, she must first give her hand to the seductive tentacle femmes, and they just invited her to the darkroom…

Juno Frisk
Works with Transbibblan (the Trans Library) and the culture project Blåhaj at Transammans. They have a background in film and gender studies, as well as library and information studies. They are an organizer and curator for Trans Film Fest Stockholm and is also involved in Cinema Queer. Juno has a particular interest in DIY and underground queer film, and especially trans film.

Transammans is Sweden’s largest association for transgender people and their loved ones.

ACCESSIBILITY – FRIGGA:
The program takes place on the ground floor, but there are some steps and small doorways. The narrowest door is 77cm. There is sound amplification but no ear loop.
