Sam Message will represent Saqmi at Uppsala Short film festival 2021 in a panel discussion titled ARCHIVE TALKS around archive selection and its consequences.

Here is how Uppsala Short film festival articulates the event; What is the role of the film archive in the writing of history? How has the selection process, where films are either included or excluded, affected the writing of history in terms of minorities, women, queer people and racialized people? Industry representatives discuss the work of film archives today, and the role they will play in the future.
