The workshop is called βCollective Hope: Listening and Reflecting through makingβ
π¨ππππ πππ ππππππππ: This workshop invites participants to explore the concept of hope through a collaborative film-making process. Together, we will reflect on what hope means to us and how we can express it through simple, accessible creative practices. In this new reflective space, created in response to the film screening, weβll practice hope-making, where film becomes a collective, sensory experience that extends beyond the screen. No prior experience is neededβjust bring yourself, a willingness to engage and your smartphone (other options will be provided if thatβs not available)
*Participants are encouraged to attend the film program on Monday, 9th September. For those who missed it, there will be an additional screening of Lost Arab 10 minutes before the workshop begins. Please arrive early if youβd like to view it again.*
π¨ππππ πππ ππππππ: This workshop is facilitated by Careen Koleilat (They/Them) a trans, non-binary filmmaker of Lebanese-Palestinian heritage. With sixteen years of experience in the global film industry, their work focuses on decolonial storytelling, immigration, queerness, and family dynamics. Careen holds multiple advanced degrees, including an MFA in Film from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg, Sweden. Their research investigates and challenges different modes of storytelling and collaborative film practices that engage audiences beyond traditional screenings. As a co-founder of Blue Fox Studios, they champion inclusive and transformative filmmaking processes.
